Nigeria heroic Deaf Eagles stranded in Lagos

Victorious Nigeria Deaf Eagles arrived in Lagos from the West African Football championships that ended in Mali few days ago only to find themselves stranded without government attention.
The team who were still basking in euphoria of celebration got the shock of their life as there was no ministry of sports officials to receive them on arrival and give them the necessary updates and support.
“It’s very discouraging and disheartening for the team to have been treated like that having represented our fathers land when and where necessary and no place to accommodate us”. one the players lamented
The players and the team personnel were seen hanging around the Lagos national stadium, Surulere as there was no provision for their accommodation until late in the night when the 25-man team were moved into Little Angel guests house around Ojuelegba axis.
Thumbs up for the patron of the team, Chief Emmanuel Ibru who sponsored the Deaf Eagles to Mali and still foot their hotel bills back home.
As at the press time, there was no congratulatory message from neither the minister nor the ministry of sports to appreciate the team for the yo-man’s job.
However, according to the team manager, the team are planning to go to Abuja in the next couple of days to present the trophy to the minister of sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung before moving to the Presidential Villa for Presidential honour
